Carboplatin + paclitaxel poliglumex is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of the platinum-based agent carboplatin and paclitaxel poliglumex (PPX), a macromolecular conjugate of paclitaxel with poly-L-glutamic acid. Paclitaxel poliglumex is designed to improve the delivery and tolerability of paclitaxel by increasing its water solubility and eliminating the need for Cremophor EL as a solvent, thereby reducing hypersensitivity reactions[4][5]. The conjugate slowly hydrolyzes in vivo to release active paclitaxel.
