carboplatin + vandetanib

Carboplatin + vandetanib is an investigational combination therapy consisting of two distinct agents used together primarily in oncology clinical trials. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that induces DNA crosslinking, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing tumor cells. Vandetanib is a small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and the RET oncogene, thereby inhibiting angiogenesis and tumor cell proliferation. The combination has been studied for potential synergistic effects, particularly in recurrent glioblastoma and other advanced cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer and urothelial carcinoma[1][4][5]. However, clinical trials have not demonstrated significant improvement in efficacy over standard therapies.
