Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a fixed-dose ophthalmic combination of carboxymethyl cellulose and fluorometholone, used primarily for the treatment of dry eye syndrome and ocular surface inflammation. Carboxymethyl cellulose acts as an artificial tear and lubricant, binding to corneal epithelial cells to facilitate wound healing, reduce irritation, and protect the ocular surface. Fluorometholone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties that suppresses inflammatory responses in the eye by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cytokines and mediators. The combination provides both symptomatic relief (lubrication) and addresses underlying inflammation associated with moderate to severe dry eye disease[1][2][3][7].
