Overview

A combination of **carboxymethylcellulose** and **omega-3 fatty acids** formulated as an ophthalmic treatment for dry eye disease. Carboxymethylcellulose acts as a lubricant by binding to the ocular surface and mimicking natural tear film mucin, enhancing corneal epithelial cell migration, wound healing, and lubrication. Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA, modulate inflammation at the ocular surface, influence meibomian gland function to stabilize tear film lipids, and may reduce pro-inflammatory mediators, leading to improved symptoms and signs in dry eye. This combination is aimed at both alleviating dryness through surface protection (carboxymethylcellulose) and modulating ocular surface inflammation and tear stability (omega-3s). Primary indications are **dry eye disease** and ocular surface irritation.[1][3]
