Drug intelligence / Profile preview
UPLAT is an oral combination of Carica papaya leaf extract and Tinospora cordifolia extract, developed by Sanat Products for the management of thrombocytopenia. Carica papaya leaf extract is known to increase platelet counts by upregulating the expression of the ALOX12 and PTGS1 genes, which are involved in megakaryocyte proliferation and platelet production. Tinospora cordifolia (Guduchi) acts as an immunomodulator and supports hematopoietic recovery, potentially by stimulating the production of cytokines like GM-CSF. The product is primarily indicated for chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia and is also widely used in the management of low platelet counts associated with dengue fever.
