Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**carotuximab + sorafenib** is an investigational combination therapy for cancer, notably hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Carotuximab (TRC105) is a monoclonal antibody targeting endoglin (CD105), a protein involved in angiogenesis, while sorafenib is a small molecule multikinase inhibitor that targets Raf kinases, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR), and others, suppressing tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis. The combination aims to provide additive or synergistic anti-tumor effects through dual inhibition of angiogenic pathways. This regimen has shown tolerability and promising partial response rates in early-phase clinical trials[4].
