Overview

Carrilizumab + gemcitabine + cisplatin is an investigational combination therapy for cancer, most notably studied in advanced biliary tract cancer. This regimen combines three agents: - **Carrilizumab**: a monoclonal antibody and immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) on T-cells, thus enabling an enhanced immune response against tumor cells. - **Gemcitabine**: a nucleoside analog (antimetabolite) that inhibits DNA synthesis, leading to cytotoxic effects in rapidly proliferating tumor cells. - **Cisplatin**: a platinum-based chemotherapy agent that causes DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in cancer cells. The combination is designed to integrate immunotherapy (carrilizumab) with cytotoxic chemotherapy (gemcitabine and cisplatin) to maximize anticancer efficacy, particularly in solid malignancies such as biliary tract cancer.
