Overview

CART-19 (Fujian Medical University) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by Fujian Medical University, this cell therapy is primarily investigated for patients with CD19-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), particularly those who are minimal residual disease (MRD) positive. The mechanism involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR that identifies and binds to CD19 on B-cell surfaces, triggering T-cell mediated cytotoxicity against the leukemic cells. This specific program aims to assess the safety and efficacy of the therapy in preventing relapse in high-risk patients defined by MRD+ status.
