CART-19 (Henan Cancer Hospital) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target the CD19 antigen, which is widely expressed on the surface of B-cell malignancies. Developed by the Henan Cancer Hospital, the therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric receptor comprising an anti-CD19 single-chain variable fragment (scFv) linked to intracellular signaling domains. Upon re-infusion into the patient—typically following a lymphodepleting conditioning regimen of cyclophosphamide and fludarabine—these engineered cells recognize and bind to CD19-positive cells, triggering T-cell activation, proliferation, and the targeted destruction of malignant B cells. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphomas.
