CART-19 cells (Henan Cancer Hospital) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Henan Cancer Hospital for the treatment of relapsed or refractory CD19-positive B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically targets the CD19 antigen, a surface protein ubiquitously expressed on B-cell lineage cells. Once re-infused into the patient following lymphodepleting chemotherapy (typically cyclophosphamide and fludarabine), these engineered cells recognize and eliminate CD19-expressing malignant B cells through T-cell mediated cytotoxicity.
