Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAVO + fluoxetine hydrochloride mimetic is a combination therapy consisting of Cang Ai Volatile Oil (CAVO), an aromatherapy agent, and a compound that acts as a mimetic of fluoxetine hydrochloride. Fluoxetine is a well-established selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bulimia nervosa, panic disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. The "mimetic" component suggests the use of a substance designed to replicate the pharmacological effects of fluoxetine rather than using the original molecule itself. This combination has been studied for its potential in treating mild to moderate depression[4]. The mechanism involves increasing serotonin levels in the brain via inhibition of its reuptake (for the SSRI-mimicking component), while CAVO may provide additional therapeutic benefit through aromatherapy.
