Overview
CBDfx CBD Muscle and Joint Cream: Cooling Formula is a topical over-the-counter (OTC) cream formulated to provide cooling relief for musculoskeletal pain, including everyday aches and pains of the muscles and joints. Developed by CBDfx in collaboration with Apothyx, the water-based, THC-free formulation combines organic broad-spectrum cannabidiol (CBD) with menthol, white willow bark extract, and caffeine. Its mechanism of action involves the activation of peripheral cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) by CBD, activation of TRPM8 receptors by menthol to produce a cooling sensation, inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes by salicin (from white willow bark), and antagonism of adenosine receptors by caffeine to reduce inflammation and pain. The product is available in multiple potencies (500mg, 1000mg, and 3000mg CBD) and has been evaluated as a comparator in clinical surveys for musculoskeletal pain.
