Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CCFM1026 + GL-104 + MP108 is a specific probiotic combination formulation developed for the management of hyperuricemia and gout. The formulation consists of three distinct bacterial strains: *Lactiplantibacillus plantarum* CCFM1026, *Lactobacillus reuteri* GL-104, and *Bifidobacterium animalis* subsp. *lactis* MP108. The primary functional component, CCFM1026, was screened by researchers at Jiangnan University for its significant xanthine oxidase inhibitory activity and its ability to degrade intestinal purine nucleosides such as inosine and guanosine. By reducing the availability of purine precursors and inhibiting the enzyme responsible for uric acid production in the gut, the combination aims to lower serum uric acid levels. The additional strains, GL-104 and MP108, contribute to the modulation of the gut microbiota, enhancement of intestinal barrier function, and reduction of systemic inflammation, which are critical factors in preventing gout flares. This combination is primarily marketed in China as a functional food or dietary supplement and has been the subject of clinical trials investigating its efficacy in patients with high uric acid levels.
