CD123 CAR-T cells (Hebei Senlang Biotechnology) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target the CD123 antigen, also known as the alpha subunit of the interleukin-3 receptor (IL-3Rα). CD123 is frequently overexpressed on the surface of leukemic blasts and leukemic stem cells in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), while showing limited expression on normal hematopoietic stem cells, making it a viable therapeutic target. The manufacturing process involves collecting a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells, genetically modifying the T cells with a lentiviral vector to express the anti-CD123 CAR, and expanding them in vitro. Upon re-infusion, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD123-expressing tumor cells, leading to targeted cell lysis. Hebei Senlang Biotechnology is currently evaluating this therapy in Phase I clinical trials for relapsed or refractory AML.
