Overview

CD19-CAR-T cells (Bioceltech Therapeutics) is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (R/R B-ALL). The therapy involves genetically modifying either autologous (patient-derived) or HLA-haploidentical allogeneic (donor-derived) T cells using a lentiviral vector to express a CAR specific for the CD19 antigen, a surface protein widely expressed on B-lineage cells. The CAR construct incorporates a 4-1BB (CD137) costimulatory domain and a CD3-zeta signaling domain to enhance T-cell activation, expansion, and persistence upon binding to CD19-positive tumor cells. This immunotherapy was evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial in China to assess safety and efficacy in patients who have failed standard treatments.
