CD34+ enriched hematopoietic stem cells are an investigational cell therapy product consisting of purified stem and progenitor cells derived from allogeneic donors. Developed and investigated by Dr. Guenther Koehne, these cells are processed using the CliniMACS system, which employs immunomagnetic beads to select for CD34+ cells while depleting T-cells from the graft. This T-cell depletion is intended to reduce the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) in patients undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for hematologic malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML). By providing a highly enriched population of stem cells, the therapy aims to ensure rapid and sustained hematopoietic engraftment without the need for intensive pharmacological immunosuppression.
