CD38 + BCMA dual-targeting CAR-T cells is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by the Chinese PLA General Hospital for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to simultaneously target two antigens highly expressed on malignant plasma cells: CD38 (ADP-ribosyl cyclase 1) and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA; TNFRSF17). By targeting two distinct proteins, this dual-specific approach is designed to enhance the precision of tumor cell recognition and mitigate the risk of disease relapse due to antigen escape, a common mechanism of resistance in single-target CAR-T therapies. The product is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to determine its safety and efficacy in patients who have exhausted standard treatment options.
