Overview
This drug entry refers to the concomitant administration of **CD388** and **Fluzone High-Dose (HD)** influenza vaccine. CD388 is a novel, long-acting antiviral conjugate (AVC) developed by Cidara Therapeutics, designed to provide universal, seasonal protection against influenza A and B. It works by binding to the highly conserved stem region of the viral hemagglutinin (HA), thereby preventing viral entry into host cells. Fluzone High-Dose is a quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV4) manufactured by Sanofi, containing four times the antigen content of standard-dose vaccines to improve immune response in older adults. The combination is being evaluated in clinical trials to determine if the co-administration of a long-acting antiviral interferes with the vaccine's ability to induce a robust immune response, with the goal of providing both immediate and sustained protection against seasonal flu.
