CD7-targeted CAR-T cells (Peking University People's Hospital) is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to treat T-cell malignancies. Developed by Peking University People's Hospital, the therapy targets the CD7 protein, a cell surface marker highly expressed in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL). The product consists of autologous or donor-derived T-cells genetically modified to express an anti-CD7 CAR. To overcome the challenge of fratricide—where CAR-T cells target each other due to shared CD7 expression—the cells are typically engineered to lack surface CD7 using technologies such as protein expression blockers (PEBL) or gene editing. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for patients who remain positive for measurable residual disease (MRD) after undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
