**Cefepime + tazobactam** is an intravenous fixed-dose antibacterial combination developed by Wockhardt as WCK 4282 and marketed under the trade name Foviscu. It combines cefepime, a fourth-generation cephalosporin that inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis through penicillin-binding proteins, with high-dose tazobactam, a mechanism-based serine beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefepime from enzymatic degradation. The optimized single-vial product contains cefepime 2 g plus tazobactam 2 g and has been evaluated for serious multidrug-resistant Gram-negative infections, including complicated urinary tract infection and acute pyelonephritis.
