Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CQ-200 LB is an oral combination antibiotic product marketed by Allgems Healthcare, primarily indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections. It contains **cefixime**, a third-generation cephalosporin, and **Lactobacillus** (typically *Lactobacillus sporogenes* or *Bacillus coagulans*). Cefixime exerts its bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through the binding and inhibition of penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This action is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including those responsible for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and otitis media. The inclusion of Lactobacillus serves as a probiotic to mitigate the disruption of normal intestinal flora caused by the antibiotic, thereby reducing the incidence of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and supporting gastrointestinal health during the course of treatment.
