Vancomycin, a glycopeptide antibiotic, inhibits cell wall synthesis by binding to the D-alanyl-D-alanine portion of cell wall precursors, primarily targeting Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus* (MRSA). This specific formulation was evaluated in a 2022 prospective cohort study conducted at Alexandria Main University Hospital in Egypt to assess clinical outcomes such as time-to-epithelialization and visual acuity improvements in patients with corneal ulcers.
