ceftriaxone + clarithromycin + amoxicillin

This is an investigational antibiotic combination regimen consisting of ceftriaxone, clarithromycin, and amoxicillin. It is being evaluated by researchers at Van Yuzuncu Yil University for the management of preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) in women after 34 weeks of gestation. Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that also targets cell wall synthesis. The regimen is used prophylactically to improve maternal and fetal outcomes, specifically aiming to reduce the length of stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
