Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of three drugs studied as a potential treatment for glioblastoma. Temozolomide is an alkylating agent that works by stopping cancer cells from making DNA. Celecoxib is a COX-2 inhibitor that may have anti-angiogenic properties. Isotretinoin is a retinoid that may affect cell differentiation. This combination was investigated in a factorial design phase I/II clinical trial, though results indicated that adding isotretinoin to dose-dense temozolomide may be detrimental to patient outcomes.
