Overview

Cemiplimab (REGN2810, also known as SAR439684) is a monoclonal antibody that targets programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), blocking its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2 to enhance T-cell mediated immune responses against cancer cells. Ipilimumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4), another immune checkpoint, thereby promoting T-cell activation and proliferation. The combination of cemiplimab and ipilimumab is being investigated for the treatment of advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other cancers. This combination aims to provide synergistic enhancement of anti-tumor immunity by dual checkpoint inhibition. Cemiplimab was developed by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Sanofi; ipilimumab was developed by Bristol Myers Squibb[1][3][5][6].
