Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cephalothin + tobramycin is an antibiotic combination therapy that pairs a first-generation cephalosporin (cephalothin) with an aminoglycoside (tobramycin). Cephalothin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis while tobramycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. This combination provides broad-spectrum coverage against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is used for serious infections such as sepsis, meningitis, respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin infections, bone infections, and complicated urinary tract infections.
