Overview

Cervavac is a quadrivalent recombinant vaccine that targets human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16, and 18. It is produced using recombinant L1 capsid proteins of each HPV type, expressed in Hansenula polymorpha yeast. The vaccine induces strong immunogenic responses, leading to the formation of virus-like particles that mimic the natural structure of HPV virions, facilitating the production of neutralizing antibodies. Cervavac is indicated for the prevention of cervical cancer, precancerous lesions (cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal), and genital warts caused by HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18. It is administered intramuscularly, typically in a two- or three-dose schedule depending on age.
