Overview

**Cetirizine + fluticasone** is a combination of two active pharmaceutical ingredients commonly used together for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and related allergic symptoms. Cetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine (selective Histamine H1 receptor antagonist) primarily used for reducing sneezing, pruritus, and rhinorrhea by blocking the action of histamine at the H1 receptor site. Fluticasone is a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory activity that reduces nasal inflammation and congestion via local effects on nasal mucosa. The combination leverages the rapid anti-symptom effects of cetirizine with the longer-term anti-inflammatory effects of fluticasone, often producing synergistic relief of both nasal and extra-nasal symptoms of allergic rhinitis where monotherapy is insufficient. Both molecules are well-tolerated and frequently used together when mono-therapy is inadequate for moderate-to-severe allergic disease[1][6][7].
