Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of cetuximab (an EGFR inhibitor monoclonal antibody), cisplatin (a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent), 5-fluorouracil (a pyrimidine analog), and leucovorin (a reduced folate that enhances 5-FU activity). This regimen is primarily used for the treatment of recurrent or metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). A modified bi-weekly administration schedule has been developed to reduce hospitalization time and chemotherapy exposure while maintaining efficacy.
