A combination therapy consisting of cetuximab, a chimeric monoclonal antibody that targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and sorafenib, a multikinase inhibitor that targets Raf kinase and inhibits tumor angiogenesis by blocking various receptor tyrosine kinases such as VEGFR, PDGFR-beta, FLT3, c-KIT, and RET. This combination aims to simultaneously inhibit multiple signaling pathways, including EGFR signaling and the VEGF and RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK pathways, to potentially overcome resistance to anti-EGFR treatments, particularly in KRAS-mutated colorectal cancer.
