Cetylpyridinium chloride + zinc lactate is a fixed-dose combination used primarily in oral care products such as mouthwashes and rinses. Cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) is a cationic quaternary ammonium compound with broad-spectrum antiseptic properties, effective against bacteria and other microorganisms. It acts by disrupting microbial cell membranes, leading to cell death, thereby reducing dental plaque, gingivitis, and halitosis. Zinc lactate serves as an additional antimicrobial agent that helps eliminate halitosis (bad breath) by inhibiting the growth of odor-causing bacteria and inactivating certain viruses.
