Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CF33-hNIS + pembrolizumab is a combination investigational immunotherapy for advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including gastrointestinal cancers and cholangiocarcinoma. CF33-hNIS is a genetically engineered chimeric DNA vaccinia oncolytic virus armed with the human sodium-iodide symporter (hNIS) gene. It selectively infects and lyses tumor cells, releasing tumor and viral antigens to stimulate anti-tumor immune responses, with hNIS enabling imaging and potential radiotherapy strategies. Pembrolizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that blocks the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) on T cells, thereby enhancing T-cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity. This combination, investigated in phase 1 clinical trials, is designed to improve anti-tumor immune responses.
