Overview

CH505 TF chTrimer + ALFQ is an investigational HIV-1 vaccine candidate composed of a stabilized trimeric HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein (CH505 transmitted/founder [TF] clade C Env) formulated with the Army Liposome Formulation containing QS-21 (ALFQ) adjuvant. The vaccine aims to induce broadly neutralizing antibody responses against HIV-1 by presenting the native-like structure of the viral envelope to the immune system. The adjuvant ALFQ contains monophosphoryl lipid A (MPLA) and QS-21, designed to enhance immunogenicity by stimulating both innate and adaptive immune responses. This combination is being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults as well as people living with HIV on suppressive antiretroviral therapy[2][3][4]. Development is led by academic consortia including Duke University researchers and supported by organizations such as NIAID.
