Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ChAdOx1 Chik + ChAdOx1 Zika refers to a clinical trial program involving two separate viral vector vaccines developed by the University of Oxford. Both vaccines utilize the ChAdOx1 platform, which is based on a replication-deficient chimpanzee adenovirus. ChAdOx1 Chik is designed to express the structural polyprotein of the chikungunya virus (including Capsid, E3, E2, 6k, and E1), while ChAdOx1 Zika expresses Zika virus antigens. These biologics function as immunostimulants to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against their respective pathogens. The program has been evaluated in Phase Ib clinical trials in Mexico to assess the safety and immunogenicity of the vaccines when administered alone or co-administered in healthy adults.
