Overview
Chaihu Shugan San + Zuogui Yin is a combination of two classical Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulas. Chaihu Shugan San, also known as Bupleurum Powder to Dredge the Liver, is traditionally used to disperse stagnant Liver Qi and Blood and alleviate pain, often for conditions such as gynecological disorders, digestive issues, and emotional disturbances. Zuogui Yin is a formula designed to nourish Kidney Yin and replenish essence. The combination has been studied for synergistic effects in improving ovarian function in models of premature ovarian failure (POF), with evidence suggesting enhanced granulosa cell proliferation, preserved follicular integrity, normalized hormone levels (FSH reduction and E2 increase), reduced apoptosis in ovarian tissue, and activation of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. These actions are thought to underlie its therapeutic potential for reproductive health issues[1][3].
