Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Chamomile extract + pomegranate peel extract is a combination of two botanical extracts commonly used in traditional and complementary medicine. Chamomile (Matricaria recutita or Chamaemelum nobile) is known for its anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic, anxiolytic, and mild sedative properties. It has been used topically for skin inflammation and mucous membrane disorders, inhaled for respiratory tract irritation, and ingested to relieve gastrointestinal spasms or inflammatory diseases[4]. Pomegranate peel (Punica granatum) contains high levels of polyphenols and antioxidants; it has demonstrated potential benefits in improving blood sugar control, cardiovascular health markers, reducing inflammation, supporting wound healing when applied topically, treating hyperpigmentation and acne due to its antioxidant content[1][5]. The combination may offer synergistic antioxidant effects but there are no widely recognized pharmaceutical products or clinical trials specifically evaluating this exact combination as a drug.
