Chang'an II Recipe

Chang'an II Recipe is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal prescription derived from the classical formula Tong-Xie-Yao-Fang. It is primarily used for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), particularly in cases associated with liver-qi stagnation and spleen deficiency syndromes. Preclinical studies indicate that it exerts anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and anti-anxiety effects. In animal models of post-inflammation IBS (PI-IBS), it has been shown to repair intestinal mucosal barrier damage by modulating immune cell ratios (CD4+/CD8+), reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, increasing anti-inflammatory cytokines like IL-4, and improving behavioral symptoms related to anxiety and depression.
