Overview
Chen's Tangshen Formula (陈氏糖肾方) is a proprietary traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound formula developed for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD), also known as diabetic nephropathy. The formula is based on TCM principles, with reported effects of "tonifying qi and nourishing yin, activating blood circulation, and resolving stasis." Clinical studies indicate that it can improve renal function in patients with DKD, particularly when initiated in early stages of the disease[3][9]. Mechanistic research suggests that its pharmacological actions include anti-inflammatory effects, antioxidative stress reduction, inhibition of fibrosis and lipid deposition in the kidney, and suppression of pyroptosis via modulation of the TXNIP-NLRP3-GSDMD axis. This results in reduced proteinuria and improved renal pathology[5]. The formula is used orally as a decoction or granule preparation.
