CHI-936 (Spectrum Therapeutics)

CHI-936 is an oral cannabinoid formulation developed by Spectrum Therapeutics, the medical division of Canopy Growth Corporation. It is designed as a standardized softgel capsule containing a combination of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). The drug was developed to provide a pharmaceutical-grade, consistent delivery system for cannabinoids to treat conditions such as chronic pain, nausea, muscle spasticity, and epilepsy. In 2019, a Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT04114110) was initiated to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of multiple doses of CHI-936 in healthy volunteers. The formulation aims to optimize the delivery and bioavailability of active cannabinoids compared to traditional medical cannabis products.
