Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Chikungunya VSV-based vaccine is an experimental viral vector vaccine developed by Auro Vaccines (utilizing technology acquired from Profectus BioSciences) for the prevention of Chikungunya fever. It is built on the proprietary VesiculoVax™ platform, which uses an attenuated recombinant Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (rVSV) as a vector to deliver and express Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) antigens, specifically the envelope polyprotein (E3-E2-6K-E1). This platform is designed to induce rapid and robust cellular and humoral immune responses. While Aurobindo Pharma (Auro's parent company) has a distribution agreement for Valneva's FDA-approved live-attenuated vaccine, Ixchiq (VLA1553), this VSV-based candidate remains a distinct asset in Auro's internal development pipeline.
