Overview

TIXY-P is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Bennet Pharmaceuticals. It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, influenza, and allergic rhinitis, particularly in pediatric patients. The formulation combines three active small molecule ingredients: paracetamol (acetaminophen), phenylephrine hydrochloride, and chlorpheniramine maleate. Paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Phenylephrine serves as a nasal decongestant by acting as a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist, which induces vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa to reduce swelling and congestion. Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation H1-antihistamine that blocks the effects of histamine, thereby alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, and watery eyes.
