Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sinarest AF New is a fixed-dose combination of chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine developed by Centaur Pharmaceuticals. It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, allergic rhinitis, and upper respiratory tract allergies in pediatric patients. Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation antihistamine that acts as an inverse agonist at the histamine H1 receptor, effectively reducing symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Phenylephrine is a sympathomimetic decongestant that selectively stimulates alpha-1 adrenergic receptors on vascular smooth muscle, causing vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa to alleviate nasal congestion and sinus pressure.
