Cholecalciferol + curcumin is a combination of two bioactive compounds commonly used as dietary supplements. Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) is a secosteroid hormone involved in calcium and phosphate homeostasis and bone metabolism, acting primarily through the vitamin D receptor to regulate gene expression. The mechanisms involve modulation of inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6 reduction), enhancement of anti-inflammatory mediators (e.g., TGF-β increase), suppression of cellular infiltration into tissues, inhibition of matrix metalloproteinases, and possible direct effects on malignant cell growth.
