Chonglian Oral Liquid (also known as Chonglian or Zhonglian Oral Liquid) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Formulated based on Xinan medicine principles, it is composed of seven herbal ingredients: Paris polyphylla (Rhizoma Paridis), Isatis tinctoria leaf (Folium Isatidis), Isatis tinctoria root (Radix Isatidis), Scutellaria baicalensis (Radix Scutellariae), Belamcanda chinensis (Rhizoma Belamcandae), Forsythia suspensa (Fructus Forsythiae), and Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Radix Glycyrrhizae). Chonglian Oral Liquid exerts heat-clearing, detoxifying, throat-soothing, and cough-relieving effects. It is primarily approved as a hospital preparation in Anhui Province, China, for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infections (wind-fever pattern) and has been clinically evaluated for the treatment of influenza and COVID-19.
