Overview

chorionic gonadotropin + menotropins is a combination hormonal therapy used primarily for the treatment of male infertility and hypogonadism, specifically congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH). Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) serves as an analog for luteinizing hormone (LH), binding to the Luteinizing hormone/choriogonadotropin receptor (LHCGR) on Leydig cells to stimulate the endogenous production of testosterone. Menotropins (human menopausal gonadotropin or hMG) is a purified extract containing both follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and LH activity; the FSH component binds to the Follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) on Sertoli cells to initiate and maintain spermatogenesis. This combination therapy is essential for patients who lack sufficient endogenous gonadotropin secretion to support normal reproductive and sexual function.
