Overview

**Chrysin + safranal** is a combination of two naturally occurring compounds, chrysin (a dihydroxyflavone flavonoid) and safranal (a monoterpene aldehyde found primarily in saffron). Both have individually demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, cardioprotective, and potential anticancer activities in a variety of preclinical and in vitro models. Chrysin acts through multiple pathways including modulation of oxidative stress, inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines, activation of estrogen receptor/mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling, and suppression of vascular endothelial growth factor-induced angiogenesis[1][3]. Safranal exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, acts as a positive allosteric modulator at the GABA-A receptor, inhibits pro-inflammatory signaling (MAPK/NF-κB pathways), and disrupts microtubule assembly in cancer cells[5][6][7][8][9]. There is currently no standardized pharmaceutical or nutraceutical product composed specifically of this combination, and any use would be experimental or as a component of multi-ingredient dietary supplements.
