Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination involves **ciclosporin** (an immunosuppressant), **infliximab** (a monoclonal antibody used to treat autoimmune diseases), and **methotrexate** (a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug). It is used to treat severe autoimmune conditions, such as refractory rheumatoid arthritis, by modulating the immune system and reducing inflammation. Ciclosporin inhibits calcineurin, which is involved in T-cell activation. Infliximab targets tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), a key cytokine in inflammation. Methotrexate inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, affecting nucleotide synthesis and thus reducing inflammation.
