Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cilory-M is an oral fixed-dose combination therapy developed by Med Manor Organics for the treatment of hypertension. It contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: cilnidipine, a dual L-type and N-type calcium channel blocker, and metoprolol succinate, a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. Cilnidipine acts on L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle to induce vasodilation and on N-type calcium channels in sympathetic nerve terminals to suppress norepinephrine release, thereby preventing reflex tachycardia. Metoprolol succinate selectively blocks beta-1 adrenergic receptors in the heart, reducing heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output. Together, these complementary mechanisms synergistically lower blood pressure and reduce the workload on the heart, providing effective cardiovascular protection.
