Cilnifix T is a fixed-dose combination of cilnidipine and telmisartan, developed and marketed by Unilex Lifesciences for the treatment of hypertension. Cilnidipine is a dual L-type and N-type calcium channel blocker (CCB). Unlike traditional CCBs that only target L-type channels, cilnidipine's inhibition of N-type channels in sympathetic nerve endings suppresses norepinephrine release, which helps prevent reflex tachycardia and provides additional organ protection. Telmisartan is a potent, long-acting angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively binds to the AT1 receptor, inhibiting the vasoconstrictive and sodium-retaining effects of angiotensin II.
