Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This polyherbal formulation is a combination of five traditional medicinal herbs—*Cinnamon verum* (Cinnamon), *Allium sativum* (Garlic), *Zingiber officinale* (Ginger), *Trigonella foenum-graecum* (Fenugreek), and *Terminalia arjuna* (Arjun)—developed by Hamdard University for the management of metabolic syndrome. The formulation aims to address the multiple components of metabolic syndrome, including obesity, dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertension, through the synergistic effects of its bioactive constituents like gingerols, allicin, cinnamaldehyde, and saponins. It is being evaluated in clinical trials as a safe and effective alternative or adjunct to standard allopathic therapies such as statins, metformin, and antihypertensives.
